It's been a surprisingly busy day today in the world of Badger hoops! Let's take a look at some of today's developments.
First and most importantly, the Badgers and Bo Ryan added the 17th member to his basketball program earlier this afternoon, as Patrick Herb of UWBadgers.com announced that Guard Aaron Irving has joined the team and will participate in his first practice today.
#Badgers welcome a new walk-on to the team. Los Angeles native, soph. G Aaron Irving (6-1, 164 lbs) will participate in 1st practice today.— Patrick Herb (@BadgerMBB) January 4, 2013
Aaron Irving is a 6-1, 164 lb Sophomore out of the Los Angeles area.We don't have any info besides what Herb gave us in his tweet, but we'll have a full player profile on Irving once more is released on the newest Badger.
The Badgers will be sporting an alternate jersey when they take the floor against Nebraska this Sunday. The special Adidas "White Out" jerseys feature are in fact, all white, with the names, numbers and logos also a shade of bright white (the picture to the right makes them look gray).
Nebraska will also be wearing an alternate uniform Sunday, featuring a red on red variation. These jerseys aren't just a one time deal, though. The Badgers and Huskers will be rocking these threads again when the two teams face off at the Kohl Center on February 26th.
Personally, I like this look. I've always been a fan of white on white color schemes and the Badgers' uniform style suits it very well. It's also good to hear that the Badgers will be wearing these jerseys again in the next matchup with the Huskers.
Though this isn't even close to the insane alternate uniform combinations that Baylor or Oregon puts together, it's a nice, fresh look. Bo Ryan probably stepped out of his comfort zone a bit when he ok'd these being worn, and you have to give him credit for trying something new.
