Our View: David Pfaff is a name that many have overlooked as higher-rated prospects were in the mix throughout the process, but don’t sleep on the future of Pfaff so quickly. Pfaff didn’t get a lot of attention in the recruiting game because he simply didn’t want it.

That doesn’t make him a bad player, in fact being the state Defensive Player of the Year should speak enough about his ability for you. Plus, there’s the whole pedigree of the Homestead program to help and the fact that his film does most of the talking needed.

He plays with great pad level, but the question is if he’s got the speed to really flourish at the next level. At 253 pounds Pfaff also won’t struggle to get the weight he’ll need to contribute at defensive end for Dave Aranda’s scheme. In fact, he could be one of the more versatile players on the line in this class.

Pfaff has an uphill battle to be an early contributor, but he screams the classic Wisconsin developmental prospect from in-state. Let’s see if it actually happens at the next level.
