Our View: Jordan Stevenson is a game-changing type of back. He’s got speed to burn, but is more than capable of packing a punch when needed as well. Wisconsin doesn’t have a running back like him on the roster and the 4-star running back out of Texas could be in line to be the next star back at UW.

The only question with him is if he can put on the weight needed to be an every-down type of running back. If not, expect him to form a killer 1-2 punch with whichever running back he splits time with. The Badgers may be missing the home run threat that Melvin Gordon is, but come August they’ll have that exact type of back on campus in Stevenson.

Late in the process there were a lot of rumors about Stevenson going the JUCO route for a year to get the academic side of things taken care of. We’ll see if that happens, but what we do know is that Stevenson signed his national letter of intent and is thus bound to the University of Wisconsin at the D1 level.

No matter what happens there, Stevenson will be a huge addition for the Badgers when he arrives on campus.
