Earlier today the Badgers received some good news on the recruiting front as they received a commitment from highly sought after 2014 QB Chance Stewart.

Wisconsin's classes for 2012 and 2013 have been and will be smaller, but the class of 2014 could be close to full and the Badgers have gotten off to a great start. Stewart joins George Panos as the first members of the class.

Stewart took to Facebook and Twitter to announce his commitment, simply stating:

Stewart visited the Wisconsin campus for an unofficial visit this week and after taking a few days to think on it he chose to make the commitment to the Badgers. He chose Wisconsin's offer over interested schools like Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Penn State. Wisconsin was the first of the major schools to make him a firm offer.

It was clear from early on that the Badgers were high on his list, as when we spoke with him earlier this summer he listed Wisconsin and Michigan as his top two schools he was looking at and he mentioned how much he enjoyed the campus and Madison in general.

One thing is for sure, he's one of the top rated pro-style QB's in the country as the new 247sports composite has him ranked 105th in the nation, the 6th best QB in the country, and the 3rd best player in the state of Michigan in this class.
