The coaching search keeps getting crazier and crazier, but we know this much: at least three people have interviewed for the Wisconsin job and two were thought to be Jacksonville Jaguars assistant head coach and defensive coordinator Mel Tucker and Bowling Green's Dave Clawson. The third, well that's not that simple... until SI.com's Pete Thamel broke the news that the third name was Utah State's Greg Andersen.
It's a name that should be pretty darn familiar to all Badger fans as Wisconsin and Utah State tangled at Camp Randall in September. It was the game that saw Wisconsin replace an ineffective Danny O'Brien for Joel Stave, down 13-3 at the half. Andersen was thought to have interviewed for the job, according to the report, shortly after the Aggies took down Toledo 45-10 in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
Andersen led the Aggies to their most wins ever in school history this year, going 11-2 and winning the final WAC title ever before the Aggies move to the Mountain West happens next season. Want more thoughts on Andersen and the rest of the candidates?
