The Wisconsin men's hockey team skated to a 2-2 draw with Minnesota Friday night at Mariucci Arena.
It was the Gophers who got the scoring started just under four minutes into the contest when Zach Budish lit the lamp.
Michael Mersch was quick to answer for the Badgers when he scored seconds later to knot the game at 1-1.
Erik Haula picked up a score just :48 seconds into the second period to, once again, give Minnesota the advantage.
But, once again, the Badgers had an answer and once again, it came in the form of Mersch who found the back of the net at the 5:06 mark tie things up once and for all.
Wisconsin held its own despite being out-shot 43-24, including 14-6 in the third period and overtime. Goaltender Landon Peterson turned in an admirable performance, stopping 41 shots in just his second start of the season.
With the draw, Badgers' record stands at 1-4-2 overall, 1-2-2 WCHA. The same two teams will lace them up again on Saturday night with an 8 p.m. faceoff.
