The Sconnie Scoop: Badgers Name Captains

With fall camp coming to a close and the first game week of the season drawing near, the Wisconsin Football team announced its six captains on Tuesday.
Running back Montee Ball, linebackers Chris Borland and Mike Taylor, offensive linemen Ricky Wagner and Travis Frederick, as well as safety Shelton Johnson were named captains for the 2012 campaign.
One of the biggest stories of the week came when Danny O’Brien was named the starting quarterback. Adam Rittenberg discusses what should be a
fresh start for the transfer from Maryland.
Rittenberg also continued his preseason countdown of the top-25 Big Ten Players and Chris Borland comes in at No. 8. Borland is the fourth Badger to crack the list.
Turning to the hardwood, Jim Polzin of the Wisconsin State Journal is reporting that highly touted basketball recruit Semi Ojeleye has narrowed his list down to four schools and Wisconsin did not make the cut.
Our editor Andrew Coppens had a chance to speak with women’s head soccer coach Paula Wilkins. Be sure to give it a listen if you have not already.
