As the football season continues to grow closer, much of the news in Wisconsin athletics continues to center around what is happening on the gridiron.

The Badger Nation reported earlier today that three-star recruit Keelon Brookins has withdrawn from his agreement with Minnesota and has now committed to Wisconsin. The defensive back is entering his senior season at Tartan High School in Minnesota. Here is a look at what Badger fans have to look forward to.

Badgers football radio analyst Mike Lucas takes a look at Wisconsin’s 2013 football schedule and collects some thoughts from head coach Bret Bielema. The Badgers recently announced a game against BYU and now it has become clear that they will host Purdue on September 21, effectively opening up Big Ten play one week before the rest of the conference.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Tuesday that offensive lineman Casey Dehn is not expected to return to the team. Academics appear to be the issue for Dehn who was the top right tackle for the Badgers when the broke spring camp.

It is Big Ten Week at the Crystal Ball Run. Tom Perry examines the influence of conference commissioner Jim Delany. Be sure to check back with CBR all this week as our editor-in-chief Andrew Coppens weighs in on the upcoming season.
