As we reported yesterday it looks like Atlanta will be the hotbed for Badgers playing in the pro's as Devin Harris was traded to the Atlanta Hawks & Jordan Taylor along with Brian Butch will be playing their summer ball for the Hawks. Don't forget the trio of Badgers playing for the Falcons right now as well. Look out Houston you have some competition after all.

Sticking on the basketball side of things Fox Sports points out what we all should agree with: Josh Gasser is going to be one important piece to the 2012-13 Badger basketball team. Seeing him progress along with an emerging George Marshall at point guard is going to be huge.

BurishBack to free agency, the NHL is having it's own FA bonanza as we speak and Justin Schultz isn't the only former Badger defenseman making a switch as Adam Burish swaps Dallas for Silicon Valley and the San Jose Sharks. He landed a nice four-year deal with a Sharks team that has seemingly annually disappointed in the playoffs and could be a major piece to their success in 2012-13 and beyond. He joins fellow Badger Joe Pavelski in a Sharks uniform as well.

more after the break....

Also, signing a deal was former Badger captain Ben Street. He signed a two-way deal with the Calagary Flames, meaning he's paid a different salary depending on the level he's at with the NHL money being much more lucrative obviously. Street spent last season playing for the Wilkes Barre-Scranton Penguins, where he put up career best numbers.

Those aren't the only Badger related names you're likely to hear with the biggest free agent prize in this class of Free Agents being Ryan Suter, but his decision could be slow in coming. Also possible signings could be names like Steven Reinprecht, Jake Dowell, and Brad Winchester. We'll keep you updated as signings happen.

Inside the Badger fandom there may not be a more sore spot that the often, o.k., always weak non-conference scheduling of Bret Bielema, Barry Alvarez, and the football program. Well, with the change to the playoffs in 2014 and the upcoming scheduling agreement with the Pac-12 that could all be changing according to Andy Baggot of the Wisconsin State Journal. We say the sooner the better! Adding Notre Dame for a few years wouldn't hurt much if you ask me.

This isn't Badger news persay, but if you get the chance give our friends over at The Wolverine Report a nice welcome to the Bloguin family as they are transitioning over to their new home over the course of this week! Congrats to them, nice to have more Big Ten teams in the fold here & we'll have an exclusive interview with them soon.

Speaking of that sort of thing, there's ANOTHER Ohio State site out there and they are killing it hard this summer, so check out Buckeye Empire. They are mixing some great humor along with the hard hitting stuff, well for an O$U site anyway.
