Written by Andrew Coppens on .

Yesterday we debuted our first 2015 recruiting board and of course shortly after putting it up, 247sports put up their first composite rankings for the class. While the complete list obviously isn't out, we wanted to update you with those who hold Wisconsin offers and got rankings.

For sure, rankings are the end all, be all, and as Badger fans we all know that by now, but this list of early offers is pretty impressive in the scope of who UW is in play for in the rankings. So, enjoy away!

Badgers Recruiting Board: 2015 Debut

Written by Andrew Coppens on .

By now we hope you are all used to our bi-weekly football recruiting board updates. Well, we've got another set of them for you today as we unveil the 2015 class for you.

Why so damn early, you ask? Well, when you see what's going on in the class of 2015 you'll know exactly why. This ain't the Badger recruiting trail of old, so buckle up and have some fun along the way.

Oh, and as a PSA - don't be that guy - you know, the one that tweets at recruits and pokes them with questions and how your school (Wisconsin) is better than everyone else in the land. Especially if you're a season ticket holder or have ever donated anything to the UW athletic funds, you are breaking NCAA rules.

Frankly, it's also just plain creepy. STOP IT!! We know of a few of you out there in Badger fanland and we're about ready to call some of  you out on it if it doesn't stop.

Leave the talking to recruits to those of us who cover the team full-time... We aren't endangering the program by talking to them, unlike you guys. So, knock it off!!

Now on to the main attraction!

Badgers Recruiting Board: Going beyond 2014!

Written by Andrew Coppens on .

It's summer and that means lots of movement on the recruiting trail as coaches attempt to get players to camps and visits, head out to visit recruits during the open periods and of course players begin to trickle in with their verbal commitments.

Wisconsin saw it happen twice last week in consecutive days with commitments along the defensive line (Billy Hirschfeld) and in the offensive backfield (Ula Tolutau).

Since we last were with you offers have gone out like crazy and we've added a new feature here as we begin to also look at the class of 2015 (which can be found here). Yes, Badger fans, it is time to get used to coach Andersen's staff pulling the trigger on more early offers than we've likely ever seen before.

So, enjoy the updated list of offers out there on the board and the movement along each position throughout both the 2014 and 2015 classes. (reminder all rankings are via the 247 Composite which includes all rankings out there including 247, Scout, and Rivals)

Badgers get 2nd football commitment in as many days

UPDATE: According to reports Ula, who is Mormon, will be on a two year mission and won't be enrolling until 2016, but does plan to sign his NLI with the Badgers as part of this class.

Wisconsin's summer recruiting is getting off to a pretty good start and the class of 2014 has it's first verbal commitment from an out of state recruit thanks to Ula Tolutau making a fast choice in favor of the Badgers. Tolutau is a three star athlete/running back out of Salt Lake City (East) in Utah.

Tolutau. who is 6'1" and 230lbs., is a name that most fans probably aren't familiar with as he was just offered by Wisconsin on May 8th. So, why the fast choice for Wisconsin? Well, he's quoted as calling UW a "dream school."

In fact, according to Jon McNamara at BadgerBlitz.com Ula's head coach even says as much

"Ula told me in September that his dream school was Wisconsin, and that was long before coach Andersen got the job," Salt Lake City (Utah) East head coach Brandon Matich told BadgerBlitz.com.

He chose the Badgers over offers from BYU, Utah, Utah State, and Hawaii. He also was receiving major interest from just about every Pac-12 school but once the Badgers offered it was all over for him according to multiple reports.

Multiple outlets are reporting that Wisconsin has gotten a fifth verbal commitment from an in-state recruit for the 2014 class. This time it's Hartland (Arrowhead) HS defensive end Billy Hirschfeld committing to the Badgers.

Hirschfeld is a 6'6", 270lbs. defensive end and is rated as a three-star prospect by the 247compsite rankings and is a three star by 247sports, Scout, and Rivals.

He joins Craig Evans, Jaden Gault, Conor Sheehey, and fellow Arrowhead teammate George Panos as Wisconsin commits just from the state of Wisconsin alone. It's the 3rd defensive recruit to commit to Wisconsin from the state and it may not be the last recruit of the week for UW according to reports as well.

Be on the lookout for a possible commitment soon from a prospect out of Utah.

Enjoy a look at Hirschfeld's recruiting video to make your own judgments:

Wisconsin adds final piece to 2013 football class

Written by Andrew Coppens on .

Head Coach Gary Andersen said on national signing day that the Badgers weren't likely finished recruiting for the 2013 class and today those words became prophetic as UW added to their class with the commitment of Tekeim Reynard.

Reynard, a 5'11", 175lbs. cornerback comes to Wisconsin from Independence (Kansas) Community College and has not been rated yet, but will likely change because of his commitment to Wisconsin (gotta love rankings sometimes, huh).

There was little secret that the Badgers were looking to add depth in their secondary and Reynard provides instant help at a position of need. In 2012 he recorded 83 tackles, 2 interceptions and 5 pass break up's this past season for Independence.

He had other offers from Colorado, Kentucky, and Georgia Southern and according to multiple reports was leaning towards Wisconsin before the visit this weekend, but committed during his visit.

Reynard is originally a native of Chesapeake, Virginia and could help provide the Badgers with some momentum in the area - especially with a shootout from friend and Badger target Jamil Kamara. Whatever benefit that may be is minimal compared to the help he'll provide to a very thin defensive backfield at the moment.

Three Badger commits receive invites to U.S. Army All-American Bowl

The number of high school all-star games has gone up over the past few years, but there's only one original and it usually features the top of the heap more often than not and in 2014 it'll have a good flavor of Wisconsin to it as three of the four commits to the University of Wisconsin will be participating in the event this coming January.

On Thursday offensive lineman Jaden Gault received his invite to play in the all-star game.

He'll join future teammate and fellow Wisconsinite Craig Evans, who also has received an invite to the prestigious event according to a tweet by BadgerNation.com:

Also joining the ranks is defensive lineman Connor Sheehy also received his official invite on Thursday. Sensing a pattern to these invites yet?

Wisconsin has a history of players in this event, with the last being now redshirt freshman Vince Biegel in the 2012 recruiting class and it could be even larger in 2014 as you'll see below. But, it's not the only big recruiting news either.
