The Wisconsin wrestling team split a pair of matches at the Hokie Duals Sunday afternoon in Blacksburg, Va.
The Badgers started off the day on a positive note with a 35-7 win over Campbell University. Wisconsin dropped the first match of the day at 125 pounds, but went on to win eight of the next nine bouts en route to the decisive victory.
Kalvin York notched Wisconsin's first pin of the season in his 2012-13 debut and Tyler Graff picked up a win by technical fall.
The tides turned when the Badgers advanced to face No.12 ranked Virginia Tech in the next match.
The Hokies took eight of the 10 individual matches on their way to a 32- 6 win.
UW picked up wins at 197 and heavyweight courtesy of Jackson Hein and Connor Medberry respectively. Medberry, who is ranked at No. 16 in the nation at heavyweight scored a 3-2 upset win over No. 15 David Marone in the final match of the day.
In another notable match, third-ranked Tyler Graff lost a a 4-3 match to No. 10 Zach Neibert at 141 pounds, it was Graff's first loss of the season.
Wisconsin's record now stands a 2-2 on the season. The Badgers will return to action on Saturday as they host Northern Iowa at the Fieldhouse, match time is set for 7 p.m.
